Learn to ride with Edinburgh Kawasaki

Kawasaki works with a UK wide network of Authorised Training Schools who offer professional rider training. Located in areas to complement the Kawasaki dealer network, current riders and those new to two-wheels are encouraged to learn and improve their skills to get the most of their experience on a Kawasaki machine.

Steps To Getting Your Licence

CBT
Compulsory Basic Training or CBT as it is often referred to as, is the first step you need to take in the world of motorcycling. The CBT covers the essential elements every rider needs to ensure their riding is both safe and enjoyable. Most CBT's take just one day to complete and once you have passed, you will be able to ride a motorcycle or scooter up to 125cc for 2 years.

THEORY TEST
You must pass a motorcycle theory test & hazard perception test, before taking any practical motorcycle test after your CBT.

A1 LICENCE
At 17 you can ride a motorcycle up to 125cc on your provisional licence after completing a CBT course.

A2 LICENCE
At 19 you can get an A2 Motorcycle Licence allowing you to ride a motorcycle or scooter with power up to 35KW. After completing a CBT and theory test you will practice and take a MOD 1 test, then continue to practice out on the road and finish by taking a MOD 2 test.

A LICENCE
At 24 you can get a full A Motorcycle Licence, allowing you to ride any motorcycle or scooter of any size or power. After completing a CBT and theory test you will practice and take a MOD 1 test, then continue to practice out on the road and finish by taking a MOD 2 test.
